The Kimber Modern is a beautiful 7 room boutique hotel located just off South Congress in Austin, Texas and was purchased by the owners of Kasita to serve as a test bed of hospitality innovation. The Kimber hadn't updated their technology in the last 5 years, but had already adapted a digital front desk and PIN code activated doors.
While the framework was in place for a post-COVID world, we knew that by updating their technology to best in class solutions we would be able to increase operational efficiency at the hotel.

The Kimber closed down in early March due to COVID, presenting a narrow silver lining. We leveraged this time as an opportunity to transition the hotel’s technology without the added pressure of having to navigate the property with guests in-house, working around a May 1 go-live date, on the hotel’s scheduled reopening.
The benefit of the Kimber being Kasita's first technology client gave us the ability to launch, test and perfect our KHS technology solution before confidently licensing it to other boutique hotel owners and operators.
